DECEMBER 2017 ANYTHING GOES CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello House guests!!!

I hope you all (who celebrate) had a wonderful Christmas.  Here in our area of Maine, we got a big snow storm on Christmas day and were left with about a foot of snow.

It's time for an Anything Goes Challenge at The House That Stamps Built.  That means we get to create without a direct challenge.  So, join us and let your creativity go free.

Sometimes I like to make scene cards and I have to say, I think Repeat Impressions has some of the best stamps for scenes.  For this card, after stamping and masking the "sun" and the RI Stamp #1015-L "Polar Bear Kisses", using Distress Inks, I sponged the ground and sky.  I then removed the "sun" mask, I stamped RI#2714-D "Small Pine Forest" in first and second generations with more Distress Inks.  After removing the polar bear mask, I decided I wanted the bears to have more dimension on the panel, so I stamped and colored them again on a separate card stock panel and fussy cut them and adhered them over the original stamping.  The sentiment is RI#3804-I "Happy New Year".

Please come on and play along, you can get all the details for entering and what you can win at THE HOUSE.

Need more inspiration...check out these blogs of other Repeat Impressions Rock Stars.

Here's wishing you all a very Happy New Year!  Thanks so much for stopping by.

INSTANT DIVA

Hello Junkies,

I hope your holidays have been full of joy and wonderful moments.

I'm here today with a card I created using stamps I scored through the inventory reduction sale still going on at Technique Junkies store.  There are so many incredible stamps included in the inventory reduction and it's a great opportunity to grab some of our stamps so you can play along and possibly win more stamps in our monthly challenges.

With the new year fast approaching, I wanted to make a celebration card.

I love that diva look on this 1950ish "Bathing Suit Betty" so I paired it with the sentiment "Instant Diva".  Both stamps were purchased from the inventory reduction sale.  After stamping, coloring and masking the bathing suit Betty, I inked up "Waves and Dots Panel" with Carnation Red Archival Ink on a white card stock panel.  I left a portion of the bottom for the sentiment and used a scrap piece of gold cs to edge it.  The sentiment was separately stamped and die cut and edged with gold and black inks.  For the final festive touch, I added gold glitter to the waves and dots with Viva glitter pen.

I hope you found some inspiration here today and don't forget to take a look at the inventory reduction sale and grab yourself some of these great stamps.

If you'd like a little more incentive, use my discount code TJ10Cheri and apply it at check out for any of the other stamps you'd like in the store.

Set your calendars because the Technique Junkie design team is going to be showing off a brand new release on January 1 - New Year's Day!  You'll love these new stamps....I promise.

Happy New Year!

JOY TO THE WORLD

Greetings Junkies!!!

Only six days until Christmas and I hope you're all saving some special time for yourselves to enjoy it with people you love.  Some of my favorite Christmas memories are of midnight service at our church.  The service began at 11:00 at night and ended at 12:00 midnight Christmas morning.  The service always began with "Joy to the World" and ended with "Silent Night".  The music resounded through the whole sanctuary and could be heard throughout the small town where I lived.

Celebrating those memories I created this card.  It was made using Technique Junkies "Violin Collage" as a background.  This background stamp is from the November 2017 release and just one of fabulous many background stamps in the store at Technique Junkies.

On a dark blue card stock panel, I stamped the bg stamp with VersaMark ink then heat embossed it with silver embossing powder.  The edges were "painted" with a Nuvo Silver Glitter Marker.  I cut the word die "JOY" 4 times..three times in grey cs and once in a silver card stock paper.  I layered them together, with the silver layer on top, and placed them on the bg layer.  Such a simple card, but oh, how elegant it is.

Thanks for stopping by today.  There's lots of fun things going on at Technique Junkies....The Inventory Reduction Sale is still going on and is a great deal.  You can get yourself some TJ stamps at a big discount, then once you get them, you can join in our monthly challenge and maybe win yourself some more of these awesome stamps.  BUT WAIT....THERE'S MORE!  Use my discount code (TJ10Cheri) for all other stamps (other than the inventory reduction stamps) for a full 10% discount on your entire order.

DECEMBER 2017 TIC TAC TOE CHALLENGE

Hello House friends!

Today, at The House That Stamps Built, we are having another Tic, Tac, Toe challenge and we hope you'll find some time to play along with us.

Remember, you can join all the challenges this month all month long.  Each week's challenge stays open until the end of the month.  That gives you several weeks to get in on all the challenges each month.

This stamp, RI# 4707-P "Snow Family" is such a sweet stamp and I've seen several members of the design team using it for their Christmas cards...guess it's a favorite for all of us.  I tried some no-line coloring with Copic Markers.  After stamping the image on the panel, I stamped it again on masking paper and cut out a mask, which I placed over my stamped image.  I then drew a horizon line and sponged on "Tumbled Glass" Distress Ink to create the bg.  The bg of trees was created by stamping RI#2714-D "Sm Pine Forest" with a darker green ink.  The sentiment is RI#2203-H "May Your Heart".  I used my white gel pen to draw in some patterns on the scarves.  The shawl is decorated with Stickles for some holiday glitter.

My card uses the center line down, Christmas, Red & Green and Glitter from the game board here.

So, what do you say...come on over and play along with our TTT challenge and join the fun.  Need more inspiration...check out these incredible blogs of my Rock Star team mates.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you're having a fabulous week!

ANOTHER HOLLY BIRD CHRISTMAS

Hi there Junkies,

I hope you're all not tired of seeing Christmas cards yet...I love this stamp "Holly Bird"  (from the September 2017 release) and I just wanted to color him with PrismaColor Pencils on kraft cs and see how he'd turn out, and I really like it. What do you think?

The sentiment is "Merry Christmas 2" , one of my faves because of the font and the size.  After coloring the bird, ribbon and holly with the PrismaColor Pencils, I added "snow" with my white gell pen in the background as well as on some of the berries and leaves.  The sentiment was heat embossed with white ep.

Good news!  The Featured challenge "Gradient Sponging" has been extended through January.  You've got more time now to play along with this challenge and win some TJ Stamps.  You can check out the details HERE and join in on the fun!

I don't know how much longer the 35% off sale will last, but it's still going on for a select number of Technique Junkies Stamps.  Here's a great opportunity to grab some of these stamps at an awesome discount.

Want a 10% discount on any other stamps from the store, please use my code and enjoy your purchase.

DECEMBER 2017 DESIGNER'S CHOICE CHALLENGE - GLITTER

Hello there, House friends!

Today it's Joy's designer's choice challenge for The House That Stamps Built and it's to use glitter.  Easy, and approriate challenge, especially at this time of year when we're making lots of Christmas and holiday cards.

Before I get to my card for Joy's challenge, I want to welcome our newest Rock Star, Esther Asbury!  I'm so happy to have you on the team Esther and looking forward to creating with you.

I want to bid a fond farwell to Patti J., an incredibly talented designer and one I'm thrilled to have shared places on this team with.  Patti has been a major inspiration to me in so many ways and I'll miss her here.

This is my card for Joy's challenge.   I kept it very CAS.  It's difficult to see the glitter here, but the shepherd boy is painted with a gold Wink of Stella glitter pen.  In real life it truly looks gorgeous.  For additional glitter, I added some Stickles to the center of the stars which were from a sticker collection.  This stamp RI#2008-K "Shepherd Boy" is a fabulous stamp and all you need to create a beautiful Christmas card.  This sentiment paired perfectly with the shepherd boy stamp RI#2201-I "For Unto You".

Don't miss out on the 20 days of Christmas Sale-a-Bration going on now at the Repeat Impressions Facebook page where there will be a 20% off code for Repeat Impressions stamps each day.  Check in daily and grab yourself some goodies!

For more inspiration for Joy's challenge this week, have a look at what my teamies have done.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you found some inspiration and that you'll come over to THE HOUSE and play along in our challenge.  Details of how to play can be found there.

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK LIKE CHRISTMAS

Hi there Junkie fans....

I'm getting some mileage out of my awesome Technique Junkie Christmas Stamps this year and today I created this incredibly quick card.  It took barely 10 minutes.  Gotta love that!

Only two stamps used for this card, "Draped Ornaments" (which was part of the September 2017 Release) and a sentiment from "Gifts of Christmas Set of 5" from the same release.  Stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed with gold ep on a cranberry color cardstock panel.  I filled in the larger open ornaments with a Nuvo Glitter Marker in gold.  It worked perfectly and left a very smooth result.  I also used it in the bg as an embellishment by just dotting it for additional sparkle.

Check out the Technique Junkies Stamps store for so many fabulous stamps.  And if you find some you just can't live without, please use my 10% off discount coupon for your entire order.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you found some inspiration.

PROJECT OF THE WEEK - CASE A ROCK STAR CARD

Hey there, House friends!

Cheri here with a new Project of the Week for you!

If you're a card maker, you have probably had moments when you can't find your mojo and a card creation is nearly impossible to create.  I've had a few of those moments myself (okay...more than "a few").  When I can't find my mojo, I use someone else's and look through online card postings until I find something I find inspiring and use that as my "jumping off point".  In other words, I "Copy And Share with Everyone"...CASE...someone else's card.

In the card making world, it's a compliment to have your creation CASE'd, and it's customary (and appreciated) to give credit to the original card if you post yours online.

I find tons of inspiration right here each and every week when I see what the Rock Stars have created for each of the many challenges we have during the month.  That said, my POTW for you this week is to show you cards I've CASE'd from three of these talented ladies.

First up is one I CASE'd from Patti's October TicTacToe challenge.  Isn't that the cutest card?

I took Patti's card and created this one.  The CASE part here is I used the same stamps and while my card is a bit different from Patti's I used hers for the inspiration for mine.  (My regret is I didn't put googly eyes in the background.  I loved that touch she gave her card).  Stamps used are RI#2307-E "Trick or Treat Ghost" and RI#2316-G "Boo".    The ghostly circles/orbs in the bg of my card were made by dipping a pen cap into white pigment ink.

Most of us don't copy the original card to the very detail, we often change it up, but use the original as a starting point.

This is a card Shirley made for an inspiration challenge back in January.  I needed a birthday card for my brother, and thought this would be a fun card to CASE and make for him.  Stamps used on both Shirley's card and mine are from the Holy Crap stamp collection.  On my card I also used RI#2710-D "Sm. Pine Tree" and RI#2709-I "Large Pine Forest".  I also added some borders around the bottom layer.

The last CASE example I have for you today is this card made by Heather.

I kept pretty closely to Heather's great card but thought it would make a fun Christmas card by just changing up the colors and a few details.  We both used RI#5116-I "Cat Sitting Sil"  I changed the sentiment using RI#8909-G "Magical Christmas", and added a die cut snowflake in place of her floral.

There you have it for my POTW for you.  I hope you've found some inspiration and will be encouraged to CASE cards of others when you're at a loss for inspiration...just give them credit if you post them online.

Thanks for stopping by!

Here's the challenge sketch!

JUST WING IT

Hey there Junkies!!!!

I hope everyone who celebrated it, had a fabulous Thanksgiving.

I have a non-holiday card for you today...using this fabulous new stamp "Just Wing It"  from the November Release .

The background was created using Brushos one watercolor paper and a water wash technique in block form.  I wet the area with a clean brush and water and then apply Brusho pigment powders I'd sprinkled on a craft mat so the powders were watered down like watercolor paint.  After the panel was dry, I stamped the image using Ranger Archival ink.  I then sprinkled the pigment inks again over the whole image using each color in the blocks.  I love this image.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you found some inspiration.  Don't forget to treat yourself to some fabulous TJ Stamps and get a 10% discount using my discount code or TJ10Cheri.  It works every time!

NOVEMBER 2017 ANYTHING GOES CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello house friends!!!

It's Thanksgiving week here in the USA, and it's busy around here, so my ATG for The House That Stamps Built post will be short.

The bg was created by masking and lightly sponging "hills"  and clouds, then stamping the trees with RI#2719-K "Lg Pine" and RI#2714-D "Sm. Pine Forest".  Those cute little snowmen are RI#4703-I "Snowball Sequence".  The sentiment is RI#4601-H "Snowmen fall...".

Please come over and play along with us for the ATG challenge and ALL of the challenges this month.  You can still get in on every challenge for the month, and your chances of winning some RI stamps increases.  More details can be found at The House.

Take a gander at these awesome ATG inspiration pieces from my team mates.

NO GREY DAYS

Hi Junkies,

Here in Maine, we're in the midst of the grey days of November.  If I have to pick the two months of the year that I dislike most they would be November and March - because of the amount of grey, colorless days.

My card today has a great pick-me-up message for people like me....

To make this card, using my MISTI, I stamped the image "Grey Days"  from the Technique Junkies November release,  in Momento black ink, and used Copic Markers to "paint" the background in a gradient fashion of blending greys and blues.  It took a little while to get the blending the way I wanted it.  I made a mask from the cloud image and masked it before blending the markers.  I then removed the mask and having left the stamp in the MISTI, I placed it in the same position and inked it again with VersaFine black in for a crisper image.  To finish the design, I used a glitter pen to draw some sparkle and "silver lining" around the cloud.

Have a great week...and I wish you no grey days only fun crafty ones!  Thanks for stopping by!

Are you like me, in love with Technique Junkie Stamps?  How about a full10% discount on your purchase order (all stamps except the November Release stamps are included in the discount)?  Just use my discount code TJCheri10 with my compliments.

Wishing all my USA friends a very Happy Thanksgiving!

CHRISTMAS LINEN DOTS

Helloooo Junkies!!!!

Did you enjoy the 30 days of Christmas celebration?  Did you grab yourself some great deals and stock your Christmas stamp collection with the awesome Technique Junkie Stamps?  It was so much fun to see all the fabulous creations with these stamps.  We all want to see your creations on the Technique Junkies FaceBook page, so please join us there and show off your creations.

I have a quick and fun card for you today using "Linen Dots" from the October 2017 Release.  .  I like to try and create Christmas cards using non-Christmas type stamps, sometimes and love how this came out.

After stamping this stamp on a white cs panel in Versamark Ink, I heat embossed it with gold ep and colored various circles with Copic Markers.  I embossed the sentiment from the "Gifts of Christmas Set of 5"  in gold ep on a piece of vellumn and adhered it to the front of the panel.  They were both then layered on a gold cs panel.  Quick and easy but I so love the results.

I hope you found some inspiration here today.  Thanks for stopping by.

Don't forget, you can purchase any TJ Stamps (except those from the November Release) for a full 10% discount just by using my code.  TJ10CHERI.
