WELCOMING GUEST DESIGNER AT REPEAT IMPRESSIONS

A BIG WELCOME!!!

Hi blog friends!

Over at The house That Stamps Built we're all pretty excited today because we are welcoming a guest designer for the designer's choice challenge this week.

Robin Clendenning , is a super talented crafter and we're so fortunate she's joined us.  Her challenge is for us to create a winter theme card.  With all the fabulous winter stamps at Repeat Impressions, this is going to be a fun challenge.

For my card I used RI# 211-P "Chickadee at Rest" and the sentiment is RI#424-G "Wishing You a Season".  The image was colored with Copic Markers.

You'll want to visit all the Rock Stars for lots more inspiration, and we hope you'll join us in Robin's challenge.  All the details can be found at The House That Stamps Built.

PROJECT OF THE WEEK FOR REPEAT IMPRESSIONS

Hi everyone, Cheri here to show you another project of the week for Repeat Impressions and The House That Stamps Built.

If you like making and giving interesting fold cards you might like to try this one.  It's called a "trifold pocket card" I found on Splitcoaststampers.  Here are the supplies you'll need.

one piece of double sided patterned paper cut 8 x 8 1/2
one piece of coordinating card stock for the insert cut 3 3/4 x 5 1/2
one piece of card stock for belly band cut 1 3/4 x 8 1/2
score board and bone folder
a dinner plate or some other round object for creating the curved top edge.
stamps of your choice
ink
strong adhesive (such as Scor-Tape)
embellishments of your choice

Step 1 - Score the 8 x 8 1/2 piece of card stock at 2 1/4 and 6 1/4.
Step 2 - Turn the paper 90 degrees and score at 2 1/2

Step 3 - Cut the outer 2 1/4 x 2 1/2 scored panels off.

Step 4 - With the dinner plate, trace an arch on the top of the trifold.
Step 5 - Cut the around the arch with your scissors.
Step 6 - Pre-fold all score lines with your bone folder and add any ribbon or decorative edging to the curved edges of the card.
Step 7 - Fold the sides in and tape the bottom to the card.
Step 8 - Decorate the 1 3/4 x 8 /12 strip of paper if you are going to do that.
Step 9 - Score the strip at 4 1/8 x 8 1/4 and add the adhesive tape to the the 1/4 edge and secure the strip together.

The card insert can be arched like you did with the card base, or you can punch decorative corners like I did.

This is an easy card to make and assemble and you can easily mass produce it by making a template to use over and over again.  Which is what I did.

Here is my assembled card.

The Stamps I used for this card are RI #1607-I "Baby" and for the sentiment RI #4416-F "New Arrival".

I hope you give this project a try.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

Have a great week!

CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE AT OUTLAWZ

Hi blog friends,

You're invited to come over to Outlawz Sunday CAS Challenge today and play along.  The challenge is to create a fall wedding card.

Fall weddings are so gorgeous.  Here's a card I created for the challenge.

Using three different dies, one CuttleBug embossing folder and some scraps, this card came together so easily.  The dies are Simon Says "Cake & Congrats", Memory Box "Amana Circle" and a very special Cheery Lynn die, "Exotic Butterfly" given to me by my dear friend and newest member of the JUGS DT, Ina Grehan.  (thank you SS).

I hope you'll come over to The Outlawz Challenges and play along.  There's a new and different challenge for every day of the week there....you're sure to have some fun playing along and there are some great prizes to win too.

I'm also entering this card in the new JUGS challenge

Anything goes - Through the Craftroom door

Thank you for stopping by!  Come by tomorrow too, when I'll be posting a project of the week for The House That Stamps Built.
