Outlawz GC031311

A birthday card for a sweet granddaughter who will be 3!  This card will be for my sweet Alexa.....the apple of her Mimi's eye.  (AND...I'm proud to say, a chip off the old block....lady with a mind of her own!)  She LOVES horses.

When Outlawz Greetings challenge came up this week it described Alexa's card to a tee!  Check them out and jump in on the challenge.

CS:  Gina K Pure Luxury "Vibrant Violet" and "Lemon Drop".  DP:  Graphic 45 "Le Cirque Collection".  Horse stamp is from Whimsy Stamps  from Crissy Armstrong designs.  I just LOVE her stamps.  I colored with Copic Markers.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Inc .

Congratulations and a Color Challenge at StampTV

CONGRATULATIONS StampTV!

What a GREAT celebration happening over at StampTV this week.  Gina K is celebrating TWO (2) years of a fabulous website FULL of creative mentoring fun,  papercrafting, stamping and cardmarking.  If you haven't been there, you need to go over and check it out.  STAMPTV will rock your creative world!  Right this minute, the whole party from last night is still up and linked on the home page!

It was November 2009 when I got an email from Gina, inviting moi to be one of her Center Stage Spotlight Design Team Members.  I happened to open the email at work.....BIG mistake... well, you know you would have screeched...I did.  My knees grew weak, my hands were shaking and I HAD to tell "someone".... but she swore me to secrecy for an entire MONTH....I thought I would choke from spouting the excitement of it all, but I did it. (held the secret)  NOT easy!
Gina's DT was so warm, supportive and welcoming as they guided me through the details..I had never experienced anything like this, so I had NO idea what to expect or the dearest friends I would make.  I do feel blessed being a part of this group.  The stamp set they chose for me was  Nina Brackett's "Lovely Shelf" stamp set....I swore she designed it for me...(she didn't....it just "fit" me to a tee)  What an honor that was!

In the past 2 years, Gina K has tweaked StampTV, advancing it as a premier, sincere, warm, appealing place to hang out for a card creator.  I'm very proud to have been selected as one of the Center Stage Spotlight Design Team members and I wish StampTV many, many more years of success.

COLOR CHALLENGE STVCSP16

Among all the other things that are going on over at StampTV, a new color challenge has been offered for this week.

How fun is this?????

My card was created almost the day I received this FABULOUS stamp set by Theresa Momber.  Sometimes when I see a stamp set the cards just come up on my visual computer screen and I "see" them...this was one.

Details:  CS  GKD Pure Luxury "Green Grass", "Sweet Mango" and "Wild Dandelion".  I used an CB EF (sorry I don't remember the name, but I love this EF - I wish CB would put the titles of the EF on them). The fantastic turtle is and sentiment is from Theresa's set "Little Critters".  It all seemed to work like so well together.  I used one of Theresa's tutorials (which you can find on my right sidebar) for the background.  I colored the tutorial with Copics and stamped the sentiment with "Walnut Stain" Distress Ink.  I used Memento inks for the shading of the background for the turtle.

I've been very wordy in this post.....if you've stuck through it up to this....I appreciate it.  I hope you'll pay a lot of attention to StampTV - it's the most creative place on the web.

Have a wonderful day and thanks so much for stopping by!  If you'd like to receive my posts via email, there's a sign up link on my right sidebar and I always appreciate your comments.

MFP #46 Challenge

I've been trying to play in some challenges again this week....time is the one thing that keeps holding me back...but for this challenge over at MFP I felt I had a good idea for a card.

CHALLENGE:  This week Susan is challenging us to use lime, green and gray and have up to one layer.  This is your perfect chance to try CAS card.  They really are fun to make!

There seems to be a lot of the color "green" being used this week...if you look back at some of my posts for challenges or blog hops, you'll see what I'm talking about.  What's up?  Blarney!!!!

This IS a challenge because CAS is sometimes difficult, especially for me.  I love this new stamp set I bought from MFP called "Big Cats" and I thought I'd give the challenge a try using it.

I don't want to tell you how many times I attempted this card.  (Note to self.....simple isn't always easy) and I'm not sure this is exactly what was in my mind's eye, but once I got this card without smudges and strange angles, I let out a big sigh of relief.

Card Stock:  Gina K Pure Luxury White
Stamp Set:  "Big Cats" by Mark's Finest Papers
Ink:  Vivid "Pear Tart" and "Cobblestone"

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic week!  Happy St. Patrick's Day to all you Green Irish out there.
