CAS Sunday at Outlawz

I made this card for the CAS Sunday Challenge this week over at Outlawz.  Maureen Merritt has given us a fun one to do.

It's a recipe this week.  You must use these 3 items on your card, you may use additional supplies, however, you MUST use these...
1.  Patterned Paper
2.  Twine/Linen Thread
3.  A "Happy" Sentiment
For my card I used this adorable new frog stamp I just got from the StampTV Set "Little Critters", illustrated by Theresa Momber.   I was disappointed with my stamping on this card, I feel I could have done better, especially with the placement of the sentiment....but hey!  I'm not working for Hallmark!  Also, I was late in getting this card completed so I was in a hurry and it was too late to start over.... (That's my story and I'm sticking to it!)
I'm off to create for another challenge, so have a great day and come on over and join the fun at Outlawz!  It's a great NEW craft community where there's always something fun to do and loads of inspiration to see.

Ingredients:  Card stock is from GKD Pure Luxury "Fresh Asparagus".  Patterened paper is from Basic Grey's "Offbeat" 6x6 pack.  Button and twine are also from GKD at StampTV.  "Little Critters" stamp set from StampTV.

Treasure Chest Blog Hop

WELCOME to the Stamp TV CSS DT ANIMAL KINGDOM CHALLENGE blog hop.  There were 33 StampTV animal stamp sets on the list to choose from and you can imagine how difficult it was to choose which set(s) to play with for this hop.

If you've come from the very talented Carolina's  blog, you're in the right place.  If not, then we invite you to go to the beginning of the hop and see all of the fabulous animal kingdom creations

As you go through this hop, be sure to leave a comment on each blog as you hop along.  On Tuesday morning, March 1, we will randomly choose one of the comments from all of the blogs and that person will win a StampTV stamp set of their choice valued up to $24.95.

I made two cards for this hop:

I wanted to create an interesting back ground as a view through a window for the cute giraffe from Melanie Muenchinger's stamp set, "Just so Hippy", so I used Distress Inks and the rainbow technique.  The grass and the branches were from "Hang in There" by Theresa Momber. I colored the giraffe with Copics. E00, E33 and E57.  CS GK PL "Ivory" and "Tan Leather".  The DP paper I used as a frame is from Basic Grey "Pyrus".

Here is my second card

Details:  CS GK PL White, Lemon Drop and Fresh Asparagus.  I stitched DP from Basic Grey "Origins" onto the Fresh Asparagus panel then layered it on the Lemon Drop layer that I had stamped a bouquet from the same stamp set with Vivid Lemon Ice ink.  All the images on this card are from the stamp set  by Theresa Momber called "Purr-fectly Delightful".  I colored the kitty with Copic markers, E00, E30, E43, W3, YR14, Y36 and YG17. The cup was colored with YG91 and G94 and cut it out with Nestabilities Round Scalloped die.  I finished it off with white satin ribbon and Prima Flowers.
Now hop on over to the very talented Deb Felt's blog and see her fantastic creation.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Sailing Away

Several of my friends have taken this week, while schools are out for February vacation, to sail away on cruises or head off to warmer spots south....I didn't sail away to anywhere, I stayed right here so I wouldn't miss any of these winter days filled with snow, ice and cold....I mean, why would I leave THAT???  Okay, so I didn't go anywhere....except to my craft area.  I created my own "sail away" moment in the form of a birthday card using the latest sketch challenge over at StampTV and I'm happy now.

Here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

Details:  GKD PL CS White, Little Boy Blue and Red Hot.  Stamp Set:  Enjoy the Sunshine from the Showtime Stamp TV Kit.  DP is Basic Grey "Offbeat".

Get ready for another StampTV CSS DT Blog Hop this weekend.....Gina's offering a free stamp set to a blog hopper.  Watch for the email from Gina to start the hop and get entered to win one of StampTV's fantastic stamp sets.

Outlawz Western Color Challenge

It's been really fun playing along with the Outlawz Gang this week in their Western theme challenge.  It ends on Friday, so if you haven't had a chance to check it out, go on over and see all the great creations.

Today I'm entering a card for the color challenge and this is the inspiration image.

And here is my card

Card details:  All card stock is from Gina K Designs, White and Black Onyx used here.  DP is from PTI "Green Tea Leaves Collection".  I finally opened my Janome Sew Mini and did some stitching along the edges for a "homey" effect.  A Martha Steward doily punch was added as well as twine and an old button I had in my stash.   Boots are from the stamp set "Out West" by Theresa Momber

Thanks for stopping by and, as always, I love hearing from you!

Speedy Cat's Friends Challenge #43

It's sure been a creative weekend for me and I love it.

Over at Speedy The Cat's Friends Challenge #43 this week, it's a black and white with one other color challenge plus.....

"This week Joanne Grezlak challenged us to use Black, white and 1 other color, along with piercing on your card".

I wasn't really happy with the results of this card and if I get more time, I'm going to try another one.  But I love this little owl from "Owl Be There" from the Two Big Boxers collections at Marks Finest Papers and he was just hoot'n away at me to ink him up and create a card with him, so I did.  It's probably not what he had in mind so maybe he won't be so noisy next time...

Details:  All CS is Gina K Designs Pure Luxury Line.  I pierced the feathers of the owls as well as along the outside edges and then I connected those with a black pen to simulate stitching.  (maybe that's where I went wrong).  Ink is Memento Black Tuxedo and Vivid Garnet.  I put little googlie eyes on the pink owl and used pink and black pearls on the flourish.

Thanks for stopping by and I welcome your comments.

You can get all the detail here so get along over there and party with us!

Here's my Western Party Birthday Card:

Details:  Base card is "Moonlit Fog" Pure Luxury by Gina K Designs.  The top portion of the card is "Red Lipstick" also Gina K Pure Luxury CS and is embossed with CuttleBug EF.  DP is from Basic Grey "Pyrus", which gave it a quilt look.  The horse (from the stamp set "Out West" by Theresa Momber)  is stamped on Gina K PL White with Memento Black Tuxedo ink and colored with Copics.  The FABULOUS seam binding is a recent purchase from Prairie Bird Boutique etsy shop.
